The city of York is hosting this year’s annual British Dental Industry Association Summer Conference, which is taking place at the Grand Hotel from 21st June. I am really honoured to have been asked to participate in the speakers and guest panel session on the second day of the conference, along with Sara Hurley, Matthew Hill, Sonia Tracey, Patrick Allen, Jason Lavery and Edmund Proffitt.
The British Dental Industry Association (BDIA) is the UK’s national trade association, representing and supporting the collective interests of manufacturers and suppliers of dental products, services and technologies. With a member community of over 125 companies, the BDIA plays a pivotal role in driving standards for the provision of quality oral healthcare.
The conference format will be a combination of industry speakers, technical meetings and a panel session. This year’s special guest speaker is Sharron Davies, MBE, former Olympic swimmer. Sara Hurley, Chief Dental Officer for England will be providing an update on the work of her office and her vision for the future of dentistry in the UK. British Dental Association Chair Mick Armstrong will also be speaking. The General Dental Council’s Matthew Hill, and BDA’s Director of Member Services Martin Woodrow as well as Jason Lavery of NHS Supply Chain are also on the panel. I’m looking forward to taking part in some lively discussion and hope I can provide some useful insights into the current challenges of delivering frontline dentistry.
