I was invited to appear on BBC One’s Truth or Scare on Monday this week. The programme looked at claims that mouthwash can increase risk of heart disease and Type 2 diabetes. This could be due to the mouthwash reducing numbers of good bacteria that produce nitric oxide as well as bad bacteria. The claims were discussed with scientific experts and an experiment was conducted comparing the amount of bacteria reduced by brushing compared with mouthwash. I also spoke to members of the public advising when it would be necessary to use mouthwash and when not.

Mouthwash works really good also. Keep it in their hair for about 2 hours with a shower cap on.
